Backstory
In the high-altitude community of El Diamante, coffee grows alongside orange trees at La Naranja, a one-hectare family farm run by Elvis Reynerio Tineo Rafael. Coffee knowledge here is generational, passed down through Elvis’s family and carried forward with care and intention.
Established in 2016 on land gifted by his family, the farm sits at 1,650 metres, benefiting from cool temperatures, steady rainfall, and clay-loam soils. Harvested from May to August, the coffee is fully washed and fermented in sealed bags, reflecting a growing focus on precision and quality in Jaén.
Farming here depends entirely on rainfall and faces ongoing climate challenges, yet commitment remains strong. Each July, the local patronal festival brings the community together — a reminder that this coffee is rooted in shared tradition, resilience, and place.
